Leather Surface Calculation: We use a highly precise measuring machine to calculate the leather surface, as cowhide does not have a standard shape. You can watch our video among the product images to see how the cut pieces are prepared and the surface areas are calculated. To simplify, the image provided will help you understand the size of the leather. As cowhide is very large and costly, we divide it into smaller pieces to offer them to our valued customers.
Leather Surface Area Explanation: - 12" x 12": Exactly 1 Square Foot - 12" x 24": Exactly 2 Square Feet - 2.5-4 Sq Ft: Approximately 3.25 Sq Ft average - 4-6 Sq Ft: Approximately 5 Sq Ft average - 6-8 Sq Ft: Approximately 7 Sq Ft average - 8-10 Sq Ft: Approximately 9 Sq Ft average - 10-12 Sq Ft: Approximately 11 Sq Ft average - 20-22 Sq Ft: Approximately 21 Sq Ft average (one side of the cowhide)
Pro Tip: You can also calculate the surface area by measuring the (average) width and (average) length of the leather in inches, then using the formula: Width x Length / 144 = Leather Surface area. For example, 24" x 36" (average) equals 6 Square Feet of leather.
